Basketball playoffs are nearing

OK Now....how many local and area high school boys and girls basketball teams will wind up in Austin at this year's state tournament?
The best guess here is that any state qualifiers will likely come from Class 1A, although I would not ever count out the Canyon girls in 4A.
In 1A I kind of like McLean in 1A Division II girls, Nazareth boys in 1A Division II and Gruver boys in 1A Division I.
1A Division I girls has some quality teams in Gruver and Wellington, but they would meet in the regional quarterfinal, and whoever wins will then probably meet defending state champion Sudan in the regional semis. Canadian's girls are really good in 1A Division I and could end up at the regional tournament, but would have to beat Sudan for the trip to Austin.
It all begins in a couple of weeks, and should be very good stuff.
